« Die ist eines der wenigen Ausnahmegüter in Deutschland, die gleichermaßen überragende trockene Weiß – und Rotweine erzeugen. Bekannt geworden sind Werner und Volker Knipser, die mittlerweile von Werners Sohn Stephan unterstützt werden, vor allem mit ihren großartigen Rotweinen. Der Spätburgunder steht dabei im Mittelpunkt und gehört in der Spitze regelmäßig zum Besten, das die deutschen Anbaugebiete zu bieten haben. Wenn sie dennoch nicht regelmäßig in unseren Bestenlisten auftauchen, dann nur, weil hier oft sehr spät gefüllt wird und die Weine nicht angestellt können. »

Second, The wine collection of the clipper is the best in the Palatinate.We were fascinated by the elegant, fine, do not grease Riesling, from delicious Sauvignon Gris, from mineral and fruity Pinot Gris, the precise, elegant Chardonnays. Much better is probably not at all. Chapeau ! »

« Unfortunately, I yet again failed last year to visit with Volker and Werner Knipser, and there is a risk that these brothers – who have repeatedly and patiently seen to it that I receive some samples of their production – may entirely lose patience with me, especially given that I admit to not comprehending the degree of critical adulation their wines receive in the home market. I found the latest Pinot Noirs to reach me typical for being rich if a bit stewed and roughly woody, and for sending out what I interpret as low-level distress signals of fruit stressed to the point where I would plan to consume the wines over the next couple of years, not cellar them for the extended period that their authors and their many admirers advocate. I find the white wines from these two German red wine pioneers far more distinctively delicious and worthy of cellaring. » |

"Malgré sa dénomination "trocken" le vin est très fruité au nez et en bouche (d'abord un peu sucraillon puis plus sec - noyau d'abricot, pêche) avec beaucoup de gras mais une acidité fine et de beaux amers apportent de l'équilibre. Très joli"
